Jiri to Everest base camp trekking is one the classic trekking destination in Nepal. Or Instead of Jiri, the trekking these days begins from the place called Bhandar since the bus is now available up to Bhandar, the gateway to Everest base camp.
But Bhandar is axcessible only in winter time thus most of the tourist start from Jiri due to the rough road. It is one of the popular trails not only in Nepal but also in the world. Thousands of tourists still make it to this route to Everest base camp Because, when Tenjing Norgey Sherpa and Sir Edmund Hillary made the successful ascend to the top of Mt. Everest (8,848 m), the highest peaks in the world in 1953, they had followed this route.
It is one of the longest trekking trails in Nepal; however the opportunities you get to explore the settlement of different ethnic groups, local food and delicacies, Buddhist monasteries, temples, splendid landscapes, jungle, flora,fauna and unique landscapes and warm hospitality of friendly people.This trail is famous for including of Mt. Everest (8,848 m.) along with a dozens of other peaks namely Mt. Cho Oyu (8,201 m), Mt. Nuptse (7855 m.), Mt. Pumori (7,161 m), Mt. Changaste (7550m), Mt. Lingterin (6679m), Mt. Amadablam (6856m), Mt. Thamserku (6723m), Mt. Kantega( 6685m), Mt. Lotse (8,516 m).
Jiri to Everest Base camp trekking begins with one day drive from Kathmandu to Bhandar/Jiri.The classical trails to Everest base camp through lovely forested hills of Solu, along the river banks of Likhu, Dudh Koshi and crosses the Lamjura la pass (3,530 m), Taksindu and finally the trail takes you to the Everest base camp and making excursion to the area, it finally ends at Lukla and fly back to Kathmandu. This trail is famous for hiking in the high Himalayas.
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu airport and transfer to Hotel.
Day 02: Half day Sightseeing in Katmandu city with cultural tour guide. Hotel
Day 03: Drive Kathmandu to Jiri (1955m) by bus or reserved van, car or Local transport
Day 04: Trek to Shivalaya (1770m.) 6 hrs.Lodge
Day 05: Trek to Bhandar (2190m.) 6 hrs.Lodge
Day 06: Trek to Sete (2270m.) 6-7 hrs.Lodge
Day 07: Lamjura Pass (3530m.) Trek to Junbesi (2675m.) 6-7 hrs.Lodge

Day 18: Gorakshep (5141m.) to via Everest Base Camp (5366m.) 7 hrs.Lodge
Day 19: Thukla via Kalapatter (5440m.) 6 hrs.Lodge>

Day 21: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440m.) 5-6 hrs.Lodge

Day 24: Reseve day in Kathmandu (Anycase of bad weather in Lukla) Hotel
Day 25: Trip end. Final departure transfer to airport

- 1 Day is better to have as a provision just in case weather at Lukla got bad to fly back to Kathmandu)
