Altitude Sickness and Acclimatization information

The Major risk is altitude sickness in this trek for the Trekkers. To prevent , proper care is very important. Drink plenty of water, we suggest you Hot water if you like, Eat enough Garlic Soups with your Meals, Walk very slowly on your comfort (condition), If possible normally hike 300 meter from your camp up and  get back to sleep down at your camp.

Day 2: Kathmandu-Gongar  (1440m.)-Simigaon (2020m.)

Driving Time 7-8hrs (191 km) by Private Jeep.

Overnight: At Tent

After breakfast, With your Trekking Staffs  drive  7-8 hrs. from Kathmandu to Simigaun through the Sunkoshi River, Bhotekoshi River,Tamakoshi River, Dolakha and Gongar.From Gongar drive further through the Rhododendron forest and Sherpa village to Simigaon.from where, appear the view of  Mt Gaurishankar (7134m.) and Rolwaling Himal.When you arrive at Simigaon, Nepal staffs will set the camp tent. After Breakfast, steep Trail descend  to Rolwaling River.The  River flows from Tso Rolpa  lake 4540m.After descending River again  ascent, flat and Smooth  path to Kharka  by crossing the small tributaries through the Rhododendron forest. Meals is provided  by Trekking Camping cook at camping standard dinning Tent /Sleep at  Tent.


Day 4: Kharka (3000m.)-Beding (3690m.)

Walking Time 5-6 hrs (10 km) 850m.+/160m.-

Overnight: At Tent

Today,walk along the Rolwaling River.The trail goes gently ascent and simply descent  through the  pine and Rhododendron forest  to Nyamare Village.Then walk further to largest  Sherpa village Beding with fantastic view of Gaurishankar. And In this village, they have Monastery. Meals at dinning Tent /Sleep at Tent.


Day 5: Beding (3690m.) Rest day

Overnight: At Tent

You have today rest day at Beding. Explore the village, Monastery or hike to Menlung la pass (5616m.) ancient trade route to Tibet. If you hike to Menlung la, take pack Lunch with you and drinking water.Do as you like. Sleep at Tent.


Day 6: Beding (3690m.) –Na Gaon (4170m.)

Walking Time 4 hrs (7 km) 550m.+/70m.-

After Breakfast  walk to Na Goan through the Mani stone, prayer flags and Rock Carved Guru Rinpoche’s largest  Images .Na Gaon is a Oldest settlement of Sherpa People.You have chance to see  Yaks and Potato fields in this village. You have Lunch camp today. Sleep at Tent.


Day 7: Na Gaon (4170m.) Hiking day for acclimatization

Walking Time 4-5 hrs

Overnight: At Tent

Today hike to Yalung and Ramdung Glacier then enjoy a great majestic view of Tso Rolpa glacial Lake (4540m.) The Total area of Lake is 154 ha, 3.45 km length, 55 meters average depth. After wonderful panorama back to Camp.

Note: hike with your Climbing Guide, he has rope.The trail is steeply up and down.


Day 8: Na Gaon (4170m.)-Kabung (4820m.)

Walking Time 3-4 hrs  (280m.+/700m.-)

Overnight: At Tent

Included: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner

Walk downhill to Sangma by crossing the wooden bridge and pass the Tso Rolpa lake then walk good path to Kabung. Today is  short walking day for more acclimatize. Lunch at Camp.


Day 9: Kabung (4820m.)-Trakarding Glacier- Nosy Camp (4980m.)

Walking Time: 6hrs (1000m.+/580m.-)

Overnight: At Tent

Walk to Nosy Camp by crossing Trakarding Glacier.The trail is partly steep, Rock, stone and sand in the middle of Glacier Scenery. On this day, enjoy the the view of Rolwaling, Takargo,Jabou Ri,Yalung, Ramdung, Pachermo Peak and Mt.Gaurishankar.


Day 10: Nosy Camp (4980m.)-Tashi Lapcha pass(5755m.)-Tashi Lapcha  camp( 5665m.)

Walking Time: 7-8 hrs (900m.+/150m.-)

Overnight: At Tent

It takes about 5-6 hrs  up to Tashi Lapcha pass via Drolambau Glacier.It’s your short climbing point. Normally there is fixed rope. Although Climbing guide has all essential rope, ice axes etc.on this day, you see the view of Yalung peak,Ramdung peak and Gaurishankar.After getting the pass, 360 degree panorama of Rolwaling valley with enter the khumbu valley (Tashi Lapcha Camp 5665m).

Note: for the pass day do not forget your crampons, Gloves, Sunglass,Suncream, drinking water, pack Lunch etc.


Day 11: Tashi Lapcha  camp( 5665m.)-Thame (3820m.)

Walking Time: 8 hrs (1865m.-)

Overnight: At Lodge

Snow,ice and rock trail decent to  Ngole with view of Cho Oyu,Everest,Makalu and Lhotse.From Ngole continue downhill to Thame through the yak pastureland.Thame is a beautiful Sherpa village.There are many of lodges and Menu Choice meals.


Day 12: Thame (3820m.) Rest Day

After strenuous pass relax your day at Thame.You can visit Monastery or explore the village if you want. From


Day 13: Thame 3800m Lungden 4400m. 4-5 hrs. (Lodge)

Meals: Breakfast/lunch/dinner

Ascent: 700 meters

Descent: 100 meters

Walking time: 4 to 5 hrs.

You walk to Lungden today  through the Marulung village.This is famous for salt trading tail according to historically myth. Also on the way you will see Monasteries, Chorten, Mani stones, Mani walls,Yaks and Tibetan style houses. Finally Today also you cross  the Bhote Koshi River and walk up to Lungden.


Day 14: Lungden 4400m.-Renjo la pass 5360m.-Gokyo 4790m. 8-9 hrs.

Ascent: 1000 meters

Descent: 610 meters

Walking time:8 to 9 hours.

Today climb up to Renjo la pass 5360m.4-5hrs.On the way before pass, we cross the small glacial lakes. from the pass enjoy the stunning view of Gokyo Valley, Cho Oyu (8201m), Lhotse(8516m), Everest (8848m), Cholatse (6335m) and Taboche (6367m).After the pass descend to Gokyo Valley.  The the trail comes somewhere steep and slippery.On the way, you can not  find the lodges ,it means for today need to have packed lunch with enough drinking waters or tea.When you arrive at Gokyo, it is prohibited to swim into the Gokyo Lake.It’s holy lake.


Day 15: Gokyo 4790m. -Gokyo ri 5360m.-Thangnak 4700m. 7-8

Ascent: 570 meters away to Gokyo ri

Descent: 570 meters path to Gokyo

Ascent: 110 meters away to Thangnak

Descent: 200 meters way to Thangnak

Walking time:7 to 8 hours.

Early in the morning hike up to Gokyo ri 3-4hrs with enough drinking water,tea and some cakes.Early in the morning  really cold and dark so put on good clothes ,shoes ,woolen hat, gloves, and take head light with you.Gokyo ri famous for stunning mountains panorama with sunshine therefore you hike early in the morning.From the Gokyo ri enjoy the view of mt Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8516m), Makalu

(8481m), Nuptse (7861m), Cho Oyu (8201m), Pumori (7161m), Ama Dablam

(6856m) and other peaks. Then walk down to Gokyo at your lodge for breakfast.After Breakfast walk to Thangnak 3hrs approx through the Ngozumpa Glacier.


Day 16: Thangnak 4700m.-Cho la pass 5368m-Dzongla 4830m. 9 hours. (Lodge)

Meals: Breakfast /Lunch/ Dinner

Ascent: 750 meters

Descent: 620 meters

Walking time: 9 hours.

Early in the morning start  to walk  for  Chola pass.The pass is Steep Rock trail, if snow there definitely slippery as well.From Thangnak to Chola pass(5368m) it takes about 4-5 hrs.Chola pass offers a great panorama of Amadablam(6856m) and Cholatse (6440m).After  pass descent to Dzongla  over the  frozen lake then through slippery snow,ice and Rock.

Note: for this day, you will get pack Lunch.On the way, you get not  tea houses and Lodges. Do not forget to carry drinking water.


Day 17: Dzongla 4830m.-Lobuche 4910m. 4 hours. (Lodge)

Ascent: 250 meters

Descent: 170 meters

Walking time: 4 hours.

You have today short and comfort walking day.After breakfast walk slightly downhill and uphill although the most trail is flat.On the way you will see beautiful lake, Mt Amadablam, Cholatse and pastureland. Lobuche is small Sherpa Village.There are many of lodges for tourist.

Day 18: Lobuche-Gorekshep 5140m. After lunch hike to Everest Base Camp 5364m.7 hours.

Ascent: 650 meters

Walking time: 6-7 hours. /12 km

From Lobuche walk to Gorekshep 3 hrs approx. When you arrive at Gorekshep, the first take Room and have Lunch then hike to Everest base camp 5364m.At Everest base camp you will see the view of Khumbu glacier, Everest Expedition Tents in the expedition season and view of Mt Everest(8848m) with another several peaks. Finally come back to Gorekshep.


Day 19: Gorekshep-Kalapathar 5550m-Lobuche 4910m.7 hours -Lodge)

Meals: Breakfast /Lunch/ Dinner

Accommodation: lodge

Ascent: 400 meters

Descent: 650 meters

Walking time : 7 hrs /12 km

Get up early in the morning, prepare your equipment like warm gloves, jackets, woolen hat, head light, shoes, socks, some chocolates, biscuits and drinking water. You climb Kalapathar (black stone) at 4:30 a.m. It takes about  3-4 hrs up to Kalapathar( 5550m).Specially Kalapathar is climbed  early in the morning  for  Mt Everest sunrise Panorama .Enjoy the rounded mountain cap and come back to Gorekshep. After breakfast, continue to Lobuche on the same route.


Day 20: Lobuche 4910m.-Kongmala 5535m.-Chhukung 4730m.8-9 hours -Lodge)

Meals: Breakfast /Lunch/ Dinner

Ascent: 700 meters

Descent: 880 meters

Walking time: 8-9 hrs

Kongmala is last  crossing pass. Again  get up early for breakfast, because the crossing of   Kongma La is once again a long and very strenuous trekking day. First, it goes in a laborious up and down over numerous rock hills of the Khumbu Glacier. Afterwards, a narrow and partially exposed path leads steeply to the pass. From the pass you can enjoy a magnificent view over the turquoise lake below the Pokalde to the bold tooth of the Ama Dablam (6856 m), On Baruntse (7129 m) and Makalu (8485 m). Particularly impressive is the proximity to the gigantic Lhotse-Nuptse flank, which rises directly above the pass. Beyond the 5535 m high pass you can expect a bit of climbing and later the trail leads over beautiful meadows down into the main valley to Chhukhung (4730 m).


Day 21: Chhukung 4730m.- Tengboche 3900m.5 hours (Lodge)

Meals: Breakfast /Lunch/ Dinner

Walking time: 5 hrs.

Walk down hill through the village of Dingboche and Pangboche to Tengboche. Afternoon visit the Tengboche  monastery and monks if you are interested.On the way you have a great view of Mt Amadablam.


Day 22: Tengboche-Namche or Monjo 5-7 hours. (Lodge)

Ascent: 150 meters

Descent: 1300 meters

Walking time: 5-7 hours. /14 km

Walk 200 meters down to the River Dudhkori and climb up to the village of Sanasa. From here we continue to Namche Bazar. It takes 5 hours to Namche Bazar from Tengboche. Depending on your condition, if you are more interested in walking, you can continue to Monjo viallge. The place is 2-3 hours from Namche.


Day 23: Namche or Monjo-Lukla 5-7 hours. (Lodge)

Ascent: 200 meters

Descent: 680 meters

Walking time: 5-7 hours. /15 km

Namche to Lukla is long walking day. Follow the path through the Monjo that leads to Lukla. Lukla is a great place after your trekking. You can go to bakery  if you want when you arrive at Lukla. It’s the last day to be with your porters.


Day 24: Fly back to Kathmandu early in the morning.

Early in the morning, fly back to Kathmandu and drive to your hotel.

Day 5: Beding (3690m.) Rest day

You have today rest day at Beding. Explore the village, Monastery or hike to Menlung la pass (5616m.) ancient trade route to Tibet. If you hike to Menlung la, take pack Lunch with you and drinking water.Do as you like. Sleep at Tent.

 

Day 6: Beding (3690m.) –Na Gaon (4170m.)

Walking Time 4 hrs (7 km) 550m.+/70m.-

After Breakfast  walk to Na Goan through the Mani stone, prayer flags and Rock Carved Guru Rinpoche’s largest  Images .Na Gaon is a Oldest settlement of Sherpa People.You have chance to see  Yaks and Potato fields in this village. You have Lunch camp today. Sleep at Tent.

Day 7: Na Gaon (4170m.) Hiking day for acclimatization

Today hike to Yalung and Ramdung Glacier then enjoy a great majestic view of Tso Rolpa glacial Lake (4540m.) The Total area of Lake is 154 ha, 3.45 km length, 55 meters average depth. After wonderful panorama back to Camp.

Note: hike with your Climbing Guide, he has rope.The trail is steeply up and down.

 

Day 8: Na Gaon (4170m.)-Kabung (4820m.)

Walking Time 3-4 hrs  (280m.+/700m.-)

Walk downhill to Sangma by crossing the wooden bridge and pass the Tso Rolpa lake then walk good path to Kabung. Today is  short walking day for more acclimatize. Lunch at Camp.

 

 

 

 

Day 9: Kabung (4820m.)-Trakarding Glacier- Nosy Camp (4980m.)

Walking Time: 6hrs (1000m.+/580m.-)

Walk to Nosy Camp by crossing Trakarding Glacier.The trail is partly steep, Rock, stone and sand in the middle of Glacier Scenery. On this day, enjoy the the view of Rolwaling, Takargo,Jabou Ri,Yalung, Ramdung, Pachermo Peak and Mt.Gaurishankar.

 

Day 10: Nosy Camp (4980m.)-Tashi Lapcha pass(5755m.)-Tashi Lapcha  camp( 5665m.)

Walking Time: 7-8 hrs (900m.+/150m.-)

Overnight: At Tent

It takes about 5-6 hrs  up to Tashi Lapcha pass via Drolambau Glacier.It’s your short climbing point. Normally there is fixed rope. Although Climbing guide has all essential rope, ice axes etc.on this day, you see the view of Yalung peak,Ramdung peak and Gaurishankar.After getting the pass, 360 degree panorama of Rolwaling valley with enter the khumbu valley (Tashi Lapcha Camp 5665m).

Note: for the pass day do not forget your crampons, Gloves, Sunglass,Suncream, drinking water, pack Lunch etc.

 

Day 11: Tashi Lapcha  camp( 5665m.)-Thame (3820m.)

Walking Time: 8 hrs (1865m.-)

Overnight: At Lodge

Snow,ice and rock trail decent to  Ngole with view of Cho Oyu,Everest,Makalu and Lhotse.From Ngole continue downhill to Thame through the yak pastureland.Thame is a beautiful Sherpa village.There are many of lodges and Menu Choice meals.

 

Day 12: Thame (3820m.) Rest Day

After strenuous pass relax your day at Thame.You can visit Monastery or explore the village if you want. From

Day 13: Thame 3800m Lungden 4400m. 4-5 hrs. (Lodge)

Ascent: 700 meters

Descent: 100 meters

Walking time: 4 to 5 hrs.

You walk to Lungden today  through the Marulung village.This is famous for salt trading tail according to historically myth. Also on the way you will see Monasteries, Chorten, Mani stones, Mani walls,Yaks and Tibetan style houses. Finally Today also you cross  the Bhote Koshi River and walk up to Lungden.

 

Day 14: Lungden 4400m.-Renjo la pass 5360m.-Gokyo 4790m. 8-9 hrs.

Ascent: 1000 meters

Descent: 610 meters

Walking time:8 to 9 hours.

Today climb up to Renjo la pass 5360m.4-5hrs.On the way before pass, we cross the small glacial lakes. from the pass enjoy the stunning view of Gokyo Valley, Cho Oyu (8201m), Lhotse(8516m), Everest (8848m), Cholatse (6335m) and Taboche (6367m).After the pass descend to Gokyo Valley.  The the trail comes somewhere steep and slippery.On the way, you can not  find the lodges ,it means for today need to have packed lunch with enough drinking waters or tea.When you arrive at Gokyo, it is prohibited to swim into the Gokyo Lake.It’s holy lake.

Day 15: Gokyo 4790m. -Gokyo ri 5360m.-Thangnak 4700m. 7-8

Ascent: 570 meters away to Gokyo ri

Descent: 570 meters path to Gokyo

Ascent: 110 meters away to Thangnak

Descent: 200 meters way to Thangnak

Walking time:7 to 8 hours.

Early in the morning hike up to Gokyo ri 3-4hrs with enough drinking water,tea and some cakes.Early in the morning  really cold and dark so put on good clothes ,shoes ,woolen hat, gloves, and take head light with you.Gokyo ri famous for stunning mountains panorama with sunshine therefore you hike early in the morning.From the Gokyo ri enjoy the view of mt Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8516m), Makalu

(8481m), Nuptse (7861m), Cho Oyu (8201m), Pumori (7161m), Ama Dablam

(6856m) and other peaks. Then walk down to Gokyo at your lodge for breakfast.After Breakfast walk to Thangnak 3hrs approx through the Ngozumpa Glacier.

 

Day 16: Thangnak 4700m.-Cho la pass 5368m-Dzongla 4830m. 9 hours. (Lodge)

Descent: 620 meters

Walking time: 9 hours.

Early in the morning start  to walk  for  Chola pass.The pass is Steep Rock trail, if snow there definitely slippery as well.From Thangnak to Chola pass(5368m) it takes about 4-5 hrs.Chola pass offers a great panorama of Amadablam(6856m) and Cholatse (6440m).After  pass descent to Dzongla  over the  frozen lake then through slippery snow,ice and Rock.

Note: for this day, you will get pack Lunch.On the way, you get not  tea houses and Lodges. Do not forget to carry drinking water.

 

Day 17: Dzongla 4830m.-Lobuche 4910m. 4 hours. (Lodge)

Ascent: 250 meters

Descent: 170 meters

Walking time: 4 hours.

You have today short and comfort walking day.After breakfast walk slightly downhill and uphill although the most trail is flat.On the way you will see beautiful lake, Mt Amadablam, Cholatse and pastureland. Lobuche is small Sherpa Village.There are many of lodges for tourist.

Day 18: Lobuche-Gorekshep 5140m. After lunch hike to Everest Base Camp 5364m.7 hours.

Ascent: 650 meters

Walking time: 6-7 hours. /12 km

From Lobuche walk to Gorekshep 3 hrs approx. When you arrive at Gorekshep, the first take Room and have Lunch then hike to Everest base camp 5364m.At Everest base camp you will see the view of Khumbu glacier, Everest Expedition Tents in the expedition season and view of Mt Everest(8848m) with another several peaks. Finally come back to Gorekshep.

 

Day 19: Gorekshep-Kalapathar 5550m-Lobuche 4910m.7 hours -Lodge)

Ascent: 400 meters

Descent: 650 meters

Walking time : 7 hrs /12 km

Get up early in the morning, prepare your equipment like warm gloves, jackets, woolen hat, head light, shoes, socks, some chocolates, biscuits and drinking water. You climb Kalapathar (black stone) at 4:30 a.m. It takes about  3-4 hrs up to Kalapathar( 5550m).Specially Kalapathar is climbed  early in the morning  for  Mt Everest sunrise Panorama .Enjoy the rounded mountain cap and come back to Gorekshep. After breakfast, continue to Lobuche on the same route.

 

Day 20: Lobuche 4910m.-Kongmala 5535m.-Chhukung 4730m.8-9 hours -Lodge)

Ascent: 700 meters

Descent: 880 meters

Walking time: 8-9 hrs

Kongmala is last  crossing pass. Again  get up early for breakfast, because the crossing of   Kongma La is once again a long and very strenuous trekking day. First, it goes in a laborious up and down over numerous rock hills of the Khumbu Glacier. Afterwards, a narrow and partially exposed path leads steeply to the pass. From the pass you can enjoy a magnificent view over the turquoise lake below the Pokalde to the bold tooth of the Ama Dablam (6856 m), On Baruntse (7129 m) and Makalu (8485 m). Particularly impressive is the proximity to the gigantic Lhotse-Nuptse flank, which rises directly above the pass. Beyond the 5535 m high pass you can expect a bit of climbing and later the trail leads over beautiful meadows down into the main valley to Chhukhung (4730 m).

 

Day 21: Chhukung 4730m.- Tengboche 3900m.5 hours (Lodge)

Walking time: 5 hrs.

Walk down hill through the village of Dingboche and Pangboche to Tengboche. Afternoon visit the Tengboche  monastery and monks if you are interested.On the way you have a great view of Mt Amadablam.

 

Day 22: Tengboche-Namche or Monjo 5-7 hours. (Lodge)

Ascent: 150 meters

Descent: 1300 meters

Walking time: 5-7 hours. /14 km

Walk 200 meters down to the River Dudhkori and climb up to the village of Sanasa. From here we continue to Namche Bazar. It takes 5 hours to Namche Bazar from Tengboche. Depending on your condition, if you are more interested in walking, you can continue to Monjo viallge. The place is 2-3 hours from Namche.

 

Day 23: Namche or Monjo-Lukla 5-7 hours. (Lodge)

Ascent: 200 meters

Descent: 680 meters

Walking time: 5-7 hours. /15 km

Namche to Lukla is long walking day. Follow the path through the Monjo that leads to Lukla. Lukla is a great place after your trekking. You can go to bakery  if you want when you arrive at Lukla. It’s the last day to be with your porters.

 

Day 24: Fly back to Kathmandu early in the morning.

Early in the morning, fly back to Kathmandu and drive to your hotel.

Day 25: Visit to Kathmandu (Farewell Dinner)

You have World Heritage Sites to see in Kathmandu. Our agency offers you cultural guides in Kathmandu for your visit. We visit you Pashupatinath, Swayambunath and Boudanath Sightseeing.
